Roswell High School Senior Portraits

As a Roswell High School senior photographer, I love creating portrait sessions that feel just right for the senior, completely customized to them. Meet Chloe. This gorgeous girl is an animal lover, and plans to go on to work with animals after finishing school. So of course we had to incorporate them, from her pet dog to one of her most favorite animals, a highland cow. We decided that the more animal fur we could get on us for this shoot, the better.

Finding the perfect location

We started at a wonderful little tucked-away photography venue called Mayberry Acres. The owners are easygoing and great to work with, and their resident highland cow is ADORABLE. The golden light filtered in through the trees and made for a perfect start to the session.

We managed a couple of outfits here, along with some extra-snuggly close-ups with the sweet cow. Chloe loves fashion too, and it was perfect that she brought along a few looks. I love to work in as many looks as we can to get extra variety. And it lets seniors show off their individual style. I loved all of her looks!

We happened across a cute little group of ducks and a picture-perfect tire swing. So of course we had to stop to snag a few images before heading to our next location.

After a short drive, we popped onto the grounds of a favorite property of mine in historic Roswell. I can’t really call myself a Roswell High School senior photographer without incorporating a beautiful historic location. I love the gardens and flowers at this property so much. Since it was spring, everything was blooming! The sunset light filtering through the trees was absolutely gorgeous. Her floral dresses were perfect against the gardens and greenery, and we captured so much variety at this property—from soft, classic portraits to more relaxed images around the grounds and historic home.

Senior Pictures That Feel Like You

One thing I always tell my seniors is that your portraits don’t have to look like everyone else’s. Some of my favorite sessions include something that’s genuinely part of your life. A favorite place, a sport or hobby, or even a beloved pet. Even when your favorite pet gets playful and a little hard to contain. Bring on the candid chaos! I love that these aren’t perfectly posed pet portraits—the interaction and laughter are exactly what make them special.

Those are the kinds of images I especially love creating: beautiful senior portraits, but also photographs that will bring back a very specific time and place and feeling years from now.

I especially love how these images feel less like something we staged for senior portraits and more like a little piece of her actual life. Years from now, the animals, the woods, the garden and all of the little details will be part of what makes these photographs meaningful.

Including Family and Pets in Senior Portraits

Senior year is such a milestone for the whole family, so I’m always happy to take a few minutes during a senior session to include the people—or pets—who are an important part of this season. We grabbed a family portrait—pup included. Pink tints to the sky are always a bonus in my book!
