Family Sessions | Atlanta Family Photographer

You want to book a family session but you’re not sure exactly where to start? Let’s go over some of the main questions I get about photographing families!

How long do family sessions take?

My sessions average right around an hour. They’re relaxed and I like to allow time for children to warm up to me at the beginning, and plenty of time for them to play games and laugh before we wrap up. Believe it or not, longer sessions work better for young children. When there’s less pressure on them to create the “perfect” image right away, everyone can relax and we can turn your connection into art!

What can we expect during our session?

I’m a lifestyle photographer, which is different from a portrait photographer and a documentary photographer. I help you all get into loose poses and I use prompts to elicit natural interactions and smiles and connection. There will be tickles, whispers, games, races, hugs, and more. And yes, I will do silly things and make a fool of myself!

Where do you photograph families?

I travel all around the metro Atlanta area for regular family sessions. I love to chat and find out the look you’re going for and then offer suggestions of the best spots. Occasionally throughout the year I’ll photograph at specific locations on set days – peach orchards, sunflower fields, the beach, etc. Be sure to get on my mailing list to be in the loop on those.

What if my kids won’t behave?

They will. Because we’ll make it fun. 🙂 I can even get your teenager to crack a smile!

What should we wear?

So, a lot of this can depend on location – you want to choose tones that compliment the surroundings. I send over a complimentary online style guide that lets you coordinate everyone easily, and I’m here to help with advice! We’ll talk textures, tones, and accessories! It’s best to avoid certain things and I’ll go over what those are too.

What’s the investment?

My full family sessions start at $699. All sessions include a combination of digital files and beautiful products so you can get those files off your computer and enjoy seeing them every day.

Ok, so what’s the process?

You start by filling out my booking questionnaire, then we chat on the phone or via email to make sure we’re a good fit. Afterwards, we pick a date and you pay a session fee to lock it in on my calendar. I will send over a complimentary style guide and I’m here to help with any questions you have on location, timing, and styling. When our session comes along you get to relax and let me be my bossy self and make sure everything and everyone looks their best. Around 2 weeks after, I’ll send you your proofing gallery to review in the comfort of your home, you select your collection and products, and I send over the corresponding invoice. Then you can share your digitals online and enjoy heirloom quality products on your walls or coffee table for years to come!
