Good night stories, band-aids, snacks, laundry, coordinating schedules, sports drop-off, school-drop off, playdates, (did I say laundry?!), and allllll the hugs and kisses – raising babies is not for the faint of heart. Every family has a beautiful story – the way those big eyes look up at you, the sound of their giggles, the feeling of their little chubby hand in yours. The way he looks like he’s practically grown up but he still wants you to snuggle him before bed. It’s a whirlwind and it’s beautiful and it deserves to be captured and savored in a meaningful way.

Before your family session

I like to chat on the phone or via email to get a feeling for what you’re looking for and what makes your family happy. We’ll find a date, pick a spot (yes, I have plenty to suggest!), and I’ll help you coordinate your crew with a complimentary styling site after you’re all booked. I’m here to help with questions on attire and styling as we go too. Send me those iPhone pictures of things laid out on an un-made bed, that’s what I’m here for!

Session day

I always capture a “everyone look over here and smile” image for your gallery. Then, the rest of your session, we let loose and have fun. I do a lot of what I call loose posing; where I find a beautiful place for your family to be together, I lead you into positions, and use prompts and play games to get a lot of natural interaction and to capture authentic smiles and happiness. No shouting at your child to look and smile necessary, our session is about being together, laughing, enjoying the evening, and capturing gorgeous memories as we go. Having your family’s photos done should be FUN.

Collections

I’m a big believer in getting your files OFF your computer and ON to your walls so you can enjoy them every day. All of my sessions come with digital files and artwork.

My session fee is $250. Collections are priced separately and begin at $349. Most families invest $799 or more in their custom portrait session, selection of digital files, and artwork. My primary offering is matted prints, however I also offer canvases and albums a la carte. My clients adore having heirloom quality products in hand after their session to enjoy in their homes.

I remember when my oldest was less than a year old and we were out for a walk, a neighbor said to me “You know, you won’t even remember his looking the way he does now.” I didn’t get it.
