Roswell First Communion Portraits

Blog | Roswell First Communion Portraits
It’s May madness over here with the end of the school year colliding with the end of sports seasons for my kiddos (and beginning of new sports seasons) and I’m trying to keep my head on straight and still manage to keep up with all the fun sessions I’ve had the chance to photograph lately!
Anyhow, I’ve photographed baptisms and weddings but this was my first First Communion session. Hmm…hopefully that doesn’t feel as funny to read as it feels to type. 😉 Firsts for everyone! This handsome young man was dressed to the T with his navy suit, bow tie, and polished leather shoes – what a cutie! Usually when you’re hired for a session that takes place partly in a church, you’re forced to work with overhead lights and predetermined backdrops. But this was a whole different situation and the photographer side of me had fun getting to plan where to take the shots inside the church. I was also able to use natural light for the whole indoor portion which was a nice surprise!
We started the session with a few portraits at a beautiful Catholic church in Roswell, and then headed down the road to one of the gorgeous historic homes to take advantage of the blooming flowers and scenery. Spring is becoming more of a favorite season for me than fall here in Atlanta – take a peek at some of our session below!

Once we wrapped up in the church, off we went to Barrington Hall in Roswell for their gorgeous gardens and beautiful sunset light.

And that’s a wrap! Contact me if you’re in the area and would like a First Communion portrait session, I’d love to help!

I love capturing children from birth through graduation and families at every age and stage! Photographing these Roswell First Communion Portraits was so much fun and I’d love to work with you if you have a child going through this very special and meaningful stage in their life!
