Sometimes it’s nice to have a little bit of everything, right? The sweet, squishy posed images of your newborn with pretty lighting AND some more relaxed shots at home showing your family in your element. My combination newborn sessions are perfect for just that.
I was so excited when this sweet family asked me to photograph baby brother – I met them for the first time when I photographed their oldest just a couple years ago. Here’s a side by side comparison of their sweet boys – see similarities? Goodness they are CUTE and both were such laid-back sweet babies for their sessions.

I photographed the posed newborn session shortly after baby was born, and a week later I popped over to their home for lifestyle shots of their family. It can be tricky to get older siblings to interact with the new baby when the older sibling is still so little themselves but when parents are relaxed we can manage it and make it fun. We may have had a lot of goldfish involved in the making of these photos. 🙂

For the posed portion, we used mainly neutrals along with a couple sets with color. I just love the way a baby’s new skin pops against a white background. Definitely my fave.
And I love capturing those newborn details like little lips in black and white.
Now onto the “lifestyle” portion of our sessions. If I had to pick one favorite image from our time together, it may be this one. Safe in mom and dad’s arms and that eye contact!

I loved the beautiful light coming in from this window so we wrapped our session up there. The faces big brother made had me cracking up (scroll to the end). So much personality in the cutest package!
