Off the Beaten Path

When seniors reach out to book a session, one of the first things we decide on is the location. I like to help them style their wardrobe to compliment the setting so it’s a good starting point. And, some locations lose sunlight earlier depending on their elevation so it even determines the time we’ll start shooting. When this senior wanted a natural feeling, I was so excited to use this spot! I adore the texture from the ruins, the beautiful creek, and the green trails with filtered light coming through the trees. One of the best things about being an East Cobb senior photographer is that we have such varied location options within 15 minutes of our area!

The beautiful ruins at this location create wonderful framing opportunities. I love her blush colored dress against the natural tones of the rocks!

I love to find a spot and create a pose like this one and then get in close and direct the senior to different expressions for variety.

We took a quick hop across a muddy stream – it took some balancing! – and found this little nook of wildflowers right off a busy road. I loved the yellow with her dress and the pretty sunlight. You’d never know we were right by a guard rail and street from this photo, right?!

We finished our session up along the beautiful creek – I love the blur my long lens gives me with this beautiful background, even if it meant my shouting instructions like a crazy person so she could hear me over the noise of the water!
