A Winter Photo Session at Piedmont Park

I’ve neglected my blog, but this session inspired me to get back on and share. This sweet family hadn’t had family photos taken in an eternity, so we decided a full session at an in-town location would be the best for them. We met a bit before sunset at Piedmont Park for a session where we could walk and take family photos as we went. It was cold, but that also meant it wasn’t as crowded and I’ll take that 100 out of 100 times. Full sessions like this are my favorite for family photos; we aren’t rushed, I get to be more creative, and we can do so many more playful, lifestyle types of images as we go. More time = better photos!

 

This little one was so precious and sweet and full of personality.

The ducks were all about us that evening – and the lake at Piedmont Park has some funny looking ducks! Next time I need to bring along some food for them, but they were still happy to get in our pictures anyway.

There isn’t always as much color in the winter, but a clear day brings in so much with sunlight. I love to look for trees with leaves to filter through golden light to add some pretty tones to the images.

We headed to another section at the park to capture some skyline images as the sun set.

And that’s a wrap! One of my favorite recent sessions – just a couple weeks later now and we have trees blooming and green popping up everywhere!
