You may remember this beautiful couple from images I shared of their maternity session – if not, you can catch up here. I have to say, doing a maternity session first is the BEST. Newborns – as perfect as they are- come with stress and less than restful nights in those early weeks, so it’s easier on us all to already know each other! To top it off, this family lives right down the street from a home I lived in back in my 20’s. Which feels like yesterday but that’s a whole other subject…

Baby boy was the sweetest, only waking for a snack and a quick diaper change during the few hours we had together. And his doggie big sis was so adorable! To start, I wrapped baby up in a sweet swaddle and posed him in a little bowl I’d brought along. Their precious doggie was out on the porch and gave the most heart-breaking and funny cries the whole time I photographed baby – so so cute.
The nursery. Ohhh the nursery. It was decorated so beautifully and got the most beautiful light! While we were there, baby boy even gave a sweet smile or two or his parents. I love the signs on the wall! “One of a kind” and “Love you more” are such sweet messages for baby to wake up to each day.

Newborn sessions = cuddles, hugs, kisses, more cuddles. Ahhh… 🙂 When baby took a break to have a snack, I took the chance to capture this peeking-in view I had from the hallway. I live for these little moments in pretty light.
These simple, sweet portraits of baby are some of my favorite from the whole session. I bring along a handful of soft, stretchy wraps to soothe babies with for all my sessions. They love the security from being wrapped snuggly, and there’s no better place than having them in their parents’ arms.
I was obsessed with the wall of mirrors in their home! Mama had collected them for years and with the sunlight streaming in from outside they made the perfect place for a cuddly family portrait to end our session with.
